Swing from Paris is a vibrant quartet inspired by the legendary swing bands of the 1930s, ’40s, and ’50s. They blend the sounds of Benny Goodman and Charlie Christian with the gypsy jazz flair of Django Reinhardt, Stéphane Grappelli, and the Hot Club of France.

With over 15 years of performances at major jazz festivals, including the Django Reinhardt Festival at Samois-sur-Seine, appearances on the BBC’s Hairy Bikers and the grand opening of the award-winning Gloucester Services, Swing from Paris has charmed audiences far and wide.

Wonderful, authentic music that transformed my party and really made the night. Eliane, Private Party, Bristol

Their style infuses Parisian-flavored jazz with vintage swing, and their repertoire is a tribute to the music they love, featuring their own arrangements of swing-era classics by composers like Gershwin, Piazzolla, Goodman, Reinhardt, and Grappelli.

The group’s story began with a chance meeting between founding members Andy Bowen and Fenner Curtis at a Birmingham University jazz club jam session. Bonded by their admiration for Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli, they formed a band and began performing around Gloucestershire.

Originally a Django Reinhardt tribute ensemble, they later expanded their repertoire to include more jazz legends and welcomed Sam Hughes on guitar and Tomasz Williams on double bass in the late 2010s.
