Guide to booking party bands in Brighton

What musical genres do your Brighton party bands play?

Vibrant and creative Brighton is buzzing with musical talent ranging in style from soul to pop and jazz to rock.

What does your quote include?

Quotes for our Brighton party bands will typically include: 2 x 60 minute sets, arrival and set up from 5pm or 6pm (depending on the band), recorded music in their breaks and PLI and PAT certificates on request.

Do all your Brighton bands bring their own equipment?

Our bands will provide everything needed to get the party started, including instruments, amplifiers, and mics. This set-up works perfectly for indoor and marquee venues but do get in touch if you’re organising an outdoor bash or an event with over 250 guests in attendance so that we can check if the band has a large enough system.

What performance timings would you recommend?

For evening events, we’d recommend putting on the band no later than 8pm in winter and 9pm in summer (i.e. after dusk, for the best effect). The band will then for 2 hours in total (this can be split into 2 x 60 minute or 3 x 40 minute sets) with one or two short breaks between sets. They’d aim to arrive anytime from 5pm to set up and sound-check (this can take up to 60 minutes).

Can your Brighton wedding party bands learn our special song?

If they can make the song work with their line-up, yes! Most bands are happy to accommodate first dance song requests, so just send us your request and we’ll run it past the band.

Where in the Brighton area do your party bands perform?

Our Brighton bands have brought the party to many city centre locations as well as nearby spots such as Hove, Lewes, Shoreham, Worthing, and Eastbourne.

Popular venues such as The King's Hotel, The Grand (De Vere) and Stanmer House, Buxted Park Hotel, Fabrica and Cissbury Barn have all been graced by our first-class performers.

From stately homes to slick hotels, our bands can get guests on their feet wherever you choose to host your nuptials in Brighton.

Can you provide jazz bands in Brighton?

We certainly can! Most of the acts on this page are suitable for evening parties where dancing is a must, but we have a range of acts for background music at afternoon parties, corporate events and receptions.

In addition to jazz bands, check out our guitarists, pianists and acoustic duos.

Why should we hire a local Brighton band?

Booking a local band in Brighton is the best way to save on travel and accommodation costs. Luckily, Brighton offers an array of exceptional acts so it shouldn’t be too tricky to find the right band for you in the area.

Once you’ve found a band you love, ask if they offer ceremony or reception drinks sets. Booking just one act will reduce travel and other expenses.

Lastly, wedding season traditionally spans the spring and summer, and many suppliers offer discounted rates outside of these times. Think about booking a winter wedding date and making the most out of those low-season discounts.

Are sound limiters an issue for your Brighton bands?

Not necessarily. If the limiter is set to a figure above 95dB, there’s no need to worry as most bands can play within this threshold. If set to a figure below this, see if your venue would be happy to switch it off for a night. Band noise levels are difficult to control and equipment can be damaged if the limiter shuts down power unexpectedly.

If this isn’t possible, we may need to suggest an acoustic act or a band with fewer members.
