Choose a Grand Venue
If you’re planning on going all out on the Bridgerton theme, the best place to start is with the venue. A grand country estate or townhouse will set the scene perfectly with just a few finishing touches needed to complete the look.
The most hardcore Bridgerton fans will be excited to hear that you can get married in the ACTUAL home of the Bridgerton fam. Ranger’s House in Greenwich, London, is a real place and one that offers couple’s the chance to say I do within its stunning walls. Unfortunately, regency style footmen complete with powdered wigs are not included.
Elsewhere in London, Syon Park’s Great Conservatory provided the backdrop for Lady Danbury’s ball in season two episode one. Syon Park also boasts a majestic Great Hall and State Dining Room, giving you plenty of options depending on the size of your guest list.
If you’re not keen on getting married in the city then look to country estates a la Clyvedon Castle, the fictional home of the Duke of Hastings. While you can’t marry in the castle itself, in part because it’s a mixture of different locations, you can choose something fitting of a Bridgerton bride elsewhere.
Hawstone Hall in Shropshire, Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire and Hedsor House in Buckinghamshire all immediately spring to mind when it comes to country house opulence. From gilded ceilings to classical artwork and manicured gardens, every inch of these venues will have you feeling like a member of the Hastings clan.

Create the Perfect Backing Track
When Bridgerton first hit our screens back in 2021 one of the key talking points was the music. Shondaland’s fantasy world of regency glamour and scandal was brought to life with the help of some classical takes on contemporary hits. Listen closely and you can hear everything from Ariana Grande’s Thank U, Next to Bad Guy by Billie Eilish played by a string quartet.
Naturally, we love this unique take on pop hits. Hire a string quartet to play during your ceremony or reception drinks to give them a romantic regency vibe – pop covers optional but highly recommended.
Bridgerton’s musical influences don’t stop here, in fact season one heroine Daphne Bridgerton plays the piano while thinking of the Duke of Hastings. Invoke the romance of this scene by hiring a pianist to tickle the ivories as you walk down the aisle.
If you’re looking to add something a little more theatrical to proceedings, why not hire a classical wedding singer? Just as Siena Rosso tugged on the heartstrings of Anthony Bridgerton, a trained operatic singer will have your guests reaching for the tissues.

Dress the Part
As Daphne Bridgerton waltzed in pastel blue and Kate Sharma took on the Viscount at pall mall in lilac, fashion lovers everywhere collectively gasped with delight. The Bridgerton wardrobe is a treasure trove of dreamy gowns rooted in regency style with the “volume turned up” in the words of creator, director and showrunner, Chris Van Dusen.
The creative team at Shondaland are masterful when it comes to picking and choosing what they like about regency style, while ditching what they don’t (goodbye, bonnets) to create a fantasy world. We think taking this approach when it comes to your wedding attire is the key to style success.
For women, regency style was centred around the empire silhouette and had a neoclassical influence going back to ancient Greece and Rome. Dresses were often white although pastels were also popular, making this time period the perfect inspiration for bridal wear. Delicate cap sleeves, square necklines and a pushed-up chest were also defining features of ladies’ fashion.
If you’re keen on staying true to the era, why not choose something like this Angela Bianca gown with flowing empire silhouette? If the empire line is just not for you, try waist hugging bodices with flowing skirts instead. Remember, you don’t need to be dressed in authentic historical garb to nail the look, it’s all about picking out the elements you love, from the flowing fabric to the short sleeves. Throw in some floral appliqué or glistening details and you’re well on your way to whimsical Bridgerton styling.
Speaking of details, the accessories you add to your dress can take you from modern day bride to belle of the Bridgerton ball. Try adding long satin gloves to your gown, wearing a sparkling tiara and pairing it with glittering crystal or pearl earrings.
If you’re beginning to think Bridgerton styling is just for the ladies, think again. The men of Bridgerton are just as sartorially blessed. Shirts, waistcoats and tails feature heavily and are accessorised with pocket watches dangling from ornamental chains. Even if you’d rather give tails a miss, we think a pocket watch gives a subtle nod to Bridgerton style and makes for the perfect wedding morning gift.

Choose a Pastel Colour Palette
The Bridgerton world is overwhelmingly pastel hued. From the famous lilac wisteria to the powder blue of Daphne’s ball gown and the sugary pink of Edwina Sharma’s dresses, muted shades are everywhere. Give your day a Bridgerton vibe by incorporating this muted colour palette.
The beautiful blue featured throughout Bridgerton was the brand-new shade on the block during the regency period and came about due to the invention of a Prussian blue pigment that could be mixed with white. Trendsetters everywhere in regency England adorned their walls with this striking shade. Follow their lead with regency blue florals, stationery, bridesmaid dresses and accessories.
If blue is not for you, at least not on its own, try throwing in some sugar pink, peach, or lavender hues to create a soft and romantic palette. The easiest way to add this colour combination is through florals but consider coloured candlesticks, bridesmaid dresses and stationery too.
5
Have Afternoon Tea
While taking tea in the afternoon wasn’t a thing until later in the 19th century IRL, we do see the Bridgerton’s and other inhabitants of the ton tucking into tea. Why not make a decadent tea featuring light bites and cakes part of your wedding celebration? Add champagne and we guarantee it will be a hit with your guests.
Speaking of cake, beautifully detailed, iced cakes were not a feature of the regency period. Fruit and candied fruit would have been the height of decadence, so try adorning your bake with them for authentic regency style. Of course, if an iced cake floats your boat, then go ahead (we love the pastel floral design above) - Bridgerton is all about taking the best bits of an era and adding some whimsical Shondaland magic, after all.

Play Lawn Games
During season two hearts raced as tension grew between Viscount Bridgerton and Kate Sharma during a game of pall mall. While this traditional game may not exist anymore the closest thing to it, croquet, certainly does. If you’re saying ‘I do’ at a country manor, make the most of the sprawling estate and lay out some lawn games. Guests will love this chance to try out some traditional games and it will serve as the perfect ice breaker for both sides of the guest list.

Keep an Eye on the Details
Nothing gets past Lady Whistledown, so if you’re aiming for a day worthy of her approval, you’re going to want to keep an eye on the details.
While there’s no need to make every element of your day authentically regency, subtle touches can offer a taste of the style and opulence of the time. Think stunning silverware, crystal glasses, an ornate cake stand and lace-edged napkins. Small details like these can really help to imbue a feeling of old-style grandeur.

Use Your Words
Bridgerton often feels like a heady mix of a Jane Austen novel and an episode of Gossip Girl. In the spirit of scandal and surprise, why not create a Lady Whistledown themed game for guests to play at the table? You could provide each guest with a couple of lines about someone else at the table and ask them to guess who each note is about. Begin each one with ‘Dear Reader…’ to really nail the Whistledown tone and don’t forget to make them as funny and surprising as possible!
We also love the idea of creating Lady Whistledown style society papers with your order of service, order of the day or just the story of how you met printed on them. You’ll find lots of templates on Etsy that you can edit and print at home – if only Lady W could do the same!
