We chose to get married at Holland Park in London as we wanted a city wedding but with some outside space too, which was hard to find.

Party Up did not disappoint, the dance floor was filled all night and we have received lots of lovely compliments from our guests.

Holland Park offered a beautiful Orangery for our ceremony and then we hired the restaurant next door (The Belvedere) for our wedding breakfast and evening reception. We could extend the license to allow us to party into the early hours.

We wanted the day to exude class and glamour, with a nod to the 1920s! The boys were tuxes and the bridesmaids wore black dresses to keep the theme running through the bridal party. We kept the colours to white, black and gold and this ran from our ceremony into the evening reception.

Having a party feel in the evening was really important to us and we have found at other events that a live wedding band really encourages people onto the dance floor. We had seen Party Up at a previous event and knew they were fab so they were one of the first things we booked for our day.

My favourite part of the day was the evening reception! It was so fun to be surrounded by all our friends and family as we partied the night away! We chose a venue that had everything in the one room so the atmosphere was fantastic and everyone looked like they were having an amazing time.

Our advice to other couples is to be really clear about what you want to enjoy about the day! Make sure you don't compromise on this or else you could end up having someone else's perfect wedding rather than your own.

Also, be happy to pay for what you want, we wanted our guests to have the best time so put money behind the bar for extra drinks in the evening!
