Where did your event take place?

Our wedding took place at The Tythe Barn just outside of Bath , Somerset. I grew up in Bath so I knew I wanted to come back and get married in an area that means so much to me.

Mark and I both knew immediately that The Tythe Barn was the venue for us as soon as we stepped into the location. It’s rustic, historical and there is almost something spiritual about it, church like without it being a church.

Why did you book live music for the day?

Live music was always something that was important to us on the day. There is a special element that only live music can produce. As we were hunting for a band we came across The Crossfades and we were instantly smitten.

Their vibe and set list was exactly the type of music we love ; indie rock, pop punk, old school rock and roll. They were the only band we wanted and the only band we contacted and we feel honoured to have found them. They were amazing and added such a wonderful vibe to the evening.

The Crossfades were all lovely guys, super professional and super talented. On the day they sound even better live than their online videos (which was already amazing) . Everyone said they were the best band they had ever seen at a wedding and I couldn’t agree more! It was electric watching them.

The Crossfades had everyone dancing with their awesome track list and even played a great playlist to round out the night after their set was done. I can’t sing their praises enough.

Our favourite moment of the day was definitely the spontaneous dance circle that formed during the final song of “Hey Jude” by The Beatles , it was so much fun and the perfect way to end an incredible set list from the band.

We found Function Central when we came across The Crossfades and they were such a great resource and agency. They made booking so easy.

What advice would you give other brides and grooms?

Just to be true to who you are as a couple and want you want not what you feel you “should” do or have. That and also prioritise in your budget what is important to you and then spend less on the things that don’t it makes sticking to a budget much easier.
