We held our wedding at Keston Village Hall in Keston, Kent. It is local, large, beautiful, affordable and you can celebrate your wedding how you want to!

We went for a village fete vibe, with bunting and lots of fresh spring flowers in jam jars. Lots of DIY decoration and handmade details.

We didn't go for a traditional wedding cake – but it looked amazing and was demolished by our guests!

We both have a sweet tooth so there was no shortage of treats. Everyone has said how good the food was, they even went back for seconds, there was nothing left!

Live music as well as a professional photographer were something we were willing to splash out on.

We felt a live band makes the night feel a lot more special for the guests. We chose The Sweet & Lowdown because they had a cool 1950's take on contemporary music, and a great playlist.

While searching for bands across the internet, I thought Function Central had the best most varied range of wedding bands in Kent, and at very competitive prices.

They have an amazingly diverse range of bands to choose from and were really helpful. We went for The Sweet & Lowdown as they were something different from the normal wedding band (not too cheesy!!).

My favourite part of the day was actually getting married! The amazing speeches, especially the hilarious one my 'best women' did, complete with song accompanied on ukulele, a Harry Potter spell and props!

And of course the band – dancing the night away with my dad and oldest best friends was a highlight!

The band were really lovely and played a range of songs to suit all tastes, then after a break adapted to the younger people's tastes! We had them to the end of the night and my dad stole the show with his dance moves!

My advice to other couples? Give yourself plenty of time to book things in advance. Make the wedding the day you want - what is important to you? And enjoy it!
