Having won the title 'England's most romantic wedding venue' in the Mills and Boon awards, this cliff-top Napoleonic fort on the Cornish coast is undoubtedly a stunning and unique place to get married. It's set in an area of outstanding natural beauty on the Rame peninsula and offers real 'wow factor' on arrival, with its cannon and drawbridge. Large ceremonies take place in The Grand Napoleonic Hall, and more intimate ceremonies in The Emperor's Room. At Polhawn Fort you get exclusive use of the venue, and there's no corkage! Local Function Central wedding bands who have played here include The Crossfades, and our South East roster occasionally make the trip too. Live music is welcome until midnight.
The Longhouse is a family run eco wedding venue in Somerset, built to offer the feeling of 'floating above the treetops'. The balcony that surrounds it offers an exquisite view over the Brue Valley and of the venue's vineyard. They allow access from the afternoon of the day before for couples to get set up for the day, and again, there's no corkage! A ceremony under the oak gazebo outside is possible in good weather and in the winter the underfloor heating and cosy log fire make it an atmospheric location. Our very own Blue Juice is one of our acts that have performed at The Longhouse.
This Georgian house on the borders of Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire is set within twenty acres of woodland and fields. Award-winning Head Chef Paul Hudson provides the gourmet food that Holbrook House is renowned for, and the restaurant holds two AA Rosettes. The venue has five different ceremony areas to choose from, each with access to the lawns, and twenty one individual and characterful bedrooms to allow for guests to stay over. Holbrook was recently featured on our blog alongside Dangermouse, for Gavin & Sara's wedding.
The long approach to Elmore Court reveals the 16th Century house and its elegant gardens and lawns with views over the Cotswolds and River Severn. Ceremonies can take place in the hall, or in the 13th century church less than a mile away. The Gillyflower is the venue's striking sustainably built space for dinner and dancing, and was designed with live music in mind as it's fully soundproofed. Music can run until midnight, but contact the venue for information on applying for a 2am license.
Deep in the heart of a secret valley are Cornish Tipi Weddings' hidden 20 acres of picturesque woodland. Ceremonies take place in the gorgeous wood, willow and canvas pavilion next to the stream, with the Moroccan Marquee and the Grand Lodge being the focal points for the reception. The catering options here are endless, from formal 3 course meals to Mexican or vintage picnics, or they're happy for you to bring your own food if you wish. This venue also hates corkage charges, so corkage is free! The lake is a magical part of the surroundings, the floating pontoon being a stunning backdrop for photos. 19th century Harry Warren House is a beautiful venue set in Dorset seaside grounds. This Victorian country house has expansive views across the bay and with the beach just down a few steps a post wedding dip is always a possibility! It's certainly a gorgeous backdrop for photos and at night you can see the lights of Bournemouth twinkling across the water. The vast lawns allow for the personalisation of your day, from marquee to additions such as garden games and fireworks displays.
Lantallack is a grade II listed Georgian farm and eco-friendly wedding venue set in 40 acres of delightful Cornish countryside. This unique venue holds a 5 star gold award, and has an extensive orchard, swimming pool, and magical walled garden. The wedding ceremony can take place in the historic 17th century Cart Barn next to the pool terrace or outside on the beautiful Wisteria Walk. Lantallack offers the individual touch of allowing newlyweds to plant a fruit tree to mark the beginning of their new life together. Bands to play at Lantallack recently include The Wild Nights and Get Carter.
Majestic Berkeley Castle is situated in Gloucestershire's Berkeley Vale, and dates back to the late 12th century. The wedding ceremony can take place in The 14th century Great Hall, The Long Drawing Room or alternatively in St Mary's Church next to the castle or under the licensed gazebo in the exquisite gardens for an outside ceremony in the summer months. Reception drinks can be held on the beautiful lawns by the lily pond or in the romantic drawing rooms. Berkeley Castle work with a catering company who have been carefully selected for their excellence, and Berkeley Castle pride themselves on professionalism in keeping with the grandeur of the venue.
This Grade II listed Manor House in Somerset was built in 17th century and is set within a glorious 130 acres of woodland, orchards and meadows, including 60 acres of cider apple orchards. The wedding ceremony can take place in the picturesque local All Saints Church, in one of the licensed rooms of the house of Pennard House, or in the Garden Pavilion on the croquet lawn. Following the ceremony, drinks and canapes can be served in the grounds by the Victorian freshwater pool. The elegant 18th century Coach House is perfect for the breakfast and evening reception, and its dancefloor is there ready for your band to get the celebrations going.
Grade I listed Elizabethan Chavenage House near Tetbury, Goucestershire, is an architecturally striking venue. The house is available for receptions only, however it is possible to arrange for a blessing in the chapel following your ceremony. The venue can accommodate up to 110 guests seated in the house or clients can arrange to have a marquee in the ground for larger numbers. Another plus is that there is no corkage charge. The rooms are warm and welcoming, including the elegant Great Hall with open fire, the Ballroom and the wood paneled Oak Room. Midnight Blue and The Fandangos have played at Chavenage House recently.
One of Brides Magazine's top 100 wedding venues, Kilver Court in Somerset is a magical venue with extensive secret gardens and is brimming with character, suitable for large grand weddings as well as more intimate celebrations. There are countless options for ceremony and reception, including an outside ceremony held in the Dovecot by the mill pond. The beamed Mulberry Room is an elegant choice for the wedding breakfast. Kilver Court's in-house catering team will design a bespoke menu with seasonal local produce and their team will help to organise all the finer details of the day.
This Georgian manor house on the Jurassic Coast, with sweeping sea views and picturesque surroundings, is a Dorset gem. Couples can have photographs on the beach here following a ceremony in Smedmore House or the Summer House. The walled garden is one of the glorious locations for the drinks reception, and there is a walk at the bottom of Smedmore House's extensive gardens that runs through beautiful woods and fields to Kimmeridge Bay. Several of our Dorset wedding bands as well as bands from London and the South East have made the trip to Smedmore.
